The Lessons
Having paid a one off fee for unlimited access you will be directed to the lessons which are all online and also available in PDF format so you can download and print off to use when you are not able to get to a computer.
There are ten lessons in total. Each one takes you through the theory with exercises to practise what your have learned in the lesson and some dictations which are short sound files for you to play, which again, will help you to try out your newly learned skills. The number of dictations in each lesson will vary. We do however, recommend that you do not rely on just our dictations. Once you have used a dictation a few times, you become familiar with what the text is and therefore can predict what is about to be said. It is better for you to use unfamiliar text such as that from radio/television where you do not know what is about to be said, which is more like real life! At the end of each lesson is an assignment consisting of three parts - which if you sign up for gold membership you can send to us. We will then mark your assignment, give you feedback and '1 to 1' personal help on any areas you need assistance with - usually via email.
By the end of your first lesson you should be able to start writing simple words and understand the theory of how Teeline works. As it is based on the alphabet and words are formed without the vowels in most cases you will find it is really simple to understand and then pick up. You should find that within a couple of months you are writing confidently and at speed as long as you put the effort in to practise.
Unlimited access to the lessons means you can access the site as often and for as long as you wish. Unlimited time means you can access it for as long as you wish - even if you have completed the ten lessons you are still able to come back and refresh any lessons you wish at any time. You can complete the course at your own speed - we won't hassle you at all, we won't set you any deadlines. We understand how sometimes life can throw a few spanners in to the works and therefore you may need to take a break or take longer to complete than others.
It is recommended that students spend at least half an hour but no more than an hour a day when learning from scratch and it may take a week to cover one lesson. It is far better to do a little every day than a few hours once a week.
Our course is suitable for those with no knowledge at all of Teeline or those who are wishing to refresh their skills. You can do the lessons in any order that you wish and go backwards to refresh yourself as often as you like.
Because there is unlimited access to the site you can always come back to it after you have completed all of the lessons to refresh your skills at any time.
